PROGRAM D-8222

Have you ever wanted to change your name? Some people actually do change their names because they just don’t like the names they were given. God changed some people’s names in the Bible, but he did it to signify a change he was making in their lives. Do you think God might want to change your name?

Is your name Anxious? Are you carrying burdens way too heavy for you? Are you living in fear and worry? Jesus said we are not to carry heavy burdens; we aren’t built for heavy burdens. He carries the heavy burdens when we exchange our heavy ones for his light burden. If your name has been Anxious lately, it’s time for a name change.

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)

God wants to give you a new name—Peaceful. He wants you to be confident of the fact that he will never leave you or forsake you, and that you can cast all your care on him because he cares for you. He wants you to know the peace that passes understanding which is found only in Jesus.

Is your name Discouraged? Are you ready to give up, on the verge on depression? Has life been full of all kinds of disappointments and discouragements lately? Sometimes it seems like they gang up on you, doesn’t it? If your name has been Discouraged, God wants to change it to Delivered.

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. (Deuteronomy 31:8)

You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. (Psalm 32:7)

I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. (Psalm 34:4)

We have seen how God wants to change your name from Bitter to Joyful, from Anxious to Peaceful, and from Discouraged to Delivered. Will you let him change your name today?
