PROGRAM D-7590

One of the saddest verses in the entire Bible is found in Matthew 23:37-28, and Jesus is speaking:

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing. Look, your house is left to you desolate.

Can you picture the Son of God, on one of the Jerusalem hills perhaps, looking out over that great city, with arms outstretched and tears streaming down his face, saying these words of despair?

The saddest thing about this cry is that it didn’t have to be that way. The people of Jerusalem could have been gathered under the loving care of their Messiah; could have known his protection, his loving attention, his blessing. But instead, they were not willing, and now, all they had left was an empty, desolate house.

This shows that the Lord will not force you to come to him, even though when you come to him you will find life and joy and peace. He will allow you to turn to your own way, as destructive and desolate as that may be.

Note also that our loving Lord longs for us to have close fellowship with him and walk in his way and know his blessing on our lives. He longs for it! Imagine, if you can, the Son of God, the Creator of the Universe, longing to have communion with you; longing for you to hear his voice and follow him; longing to give you his care and love and protection.

When we talk about unclaimed blessings, that has to be at the top of the list. The blessing that is offered to all of us to know the living God, to have an intimate relationship with him, to call him our Father, to spend time in his presence and know his love, and to be assured of eternity with him. Yet, many people turn away from that longing God and go their own way.

Have you turned your back on God? Would you like to know how you can walk into his open, loving arms and find forgiveness and peace? We have a booklet to send you that shows you what God’s Word teaches about knowing Christ and becoming his child. Please let us send that to you if you do not yet have a personal relationship with Jesus. That is a blessing you really can’t afford to miss, for it determines your eternal destiny.

If you would like to claim the blessing of knowing Jesus and becoming his child, we have a booklet we’d like to send you. To claim your copy, please email us at info@christianworkingwoman.org. One per person, while supplies last. We can ship within the U.S. only.
