PROGRAM D-8287

Why is grace so attractive to us? Of course, I’m talking about God’s grace. We live in a sin-filled world, our own hearts are inclined to sin, there’s much brokenness and suffering, and our worlds are full of judgment and condemnation. That’s why we want and need grace. Judgment kills. Only grace makes alive.

In Titus 2:11 we read that “the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.” Grace has been given to true believers so that we can live in such a way that our lives bring glory to God.

So let me ask you this: Are you living your days in the knowledge and power of God’s grace? The Bible says we are to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). Are you growing in grace? What does that even mean? It’s so vital to our walk with God, but I wonder how often in our everyday lives we consciously walk in grace, grow in grace, and live in grace.

Well, this is one reason I chose our theme of Transforming Grace for this year’s 31st Annual Weekend Getaway, because when we learn to live and grow in the reality of God’s grace, we are transformed more and more into the image of Christ. We’re devoting the entire weekend to expanding our understanding of what that means. With speakers like Dámaris Carbaugh and Sharon Brown; with relevant workshops which address the issues of your life; with inspirational music and great fellowship—this weekend is designed to encourage, educate, and equip you to grow in grace.

I hope you’ll join me March 29-31 here in the Chicago area. We meet in a lovely hotel where you’ll be pampered and the food is great. You’ll make friends with some awesome women, and you’ll have time to get away from your busy schedule and hear God’s voice.

After last year’s getaway, one woman wrote the following:

“Great spiritual formation/discipleship, strong bible-based teaching and beautiful worship.”

That’s our goal again for this year. Won’t you join me? You’ll find all the details on our website at christianworkingwoman.org and, most importantly, if you register by February 11th, you’ll get the early bird special and save some money.

You can register online at christianworkingwoman.org, or give us a call. We’ll answer your questions, send brochures, and help in any way we can. Our number is 630.462.0552.
