If we can just learn how to make sure that we’re taking in the good food of God’s Word every day, in as many helpful ways as possible, we will be growing, healthy Christians, making an impact in our worlds for Jesus.

Many of you are going to a workplace every day, and often that can be a tough place to live for Jesus. But you’re there for a purpose, as an ambassador for Christ, and when you shine for Jesus in tough places, it really has an impact and a strong witness. But you can’t do that if you aren’t a strong, healthy Christian.

I want to encourage you to use otherwise wasted time as an opportunity to feed yourself. If you have a commute to work—by car or train or bus or whatever—use that time to listen to good sermons or read a good book. You can download the entire Bible on your smart phone or iPad, and you can listen to the Bible read to you while you’re driving or riding.

How about those mindless tasks you have to do every day—like washing dishes, or laundry, or even some things you do on your job which don’t require a lot of brainpower. Why not use that time to listen to worthwhile music or messages? With all the media available to us today, it really isn’t difficult to use it for good purposes, filling our minds with sound biblical teaching, and thereby growing up in Christ.

And many of us do some exercise each day. That’s a good time to fill up your mind with good things. I’ve learned to use my walking time each day for fellowship time with the Lord, and it really makes exercise so much easier!

Well, I’m hoping and praying that many of you will become truly committed to growing up in Christ, to doing the things that will make you a strong Christian, to training yourself to be godly. When you do, you move into another level of your Christian walk, with closer fellowship and much more strength and joy for your life. It takes time to feed yourself, but it is one of the smartest and most rewarding things you’ll ever do.
