PROGRAM D-7710

Someone has said that decisions determine destiny. Well, for sure there is one all-important decision that each person faces that will truly determine their eternal destiny and that is the decision as to what you will do with Jesus Christ.

Jesus said, “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him” (John 3:36).

So, each person will make a decision as to whether they will personally believe in Jesus Christ as the only way to God, and that decision will determine whether they have eternal life with Christ or remain under God’s wrath for all eternity.

That is the most critical decision you will ever face, for it determines your eternal destiny. But life is full of lots of other decisions that have a huge impact in our lives.

Proverbs 28:26 says: “A man is a fool to trust himself! But those who use God’s wisdom are safe.”

So, it’s truly foolish to just go it alone when it comes to tough decisions—and frankly even to more mundane ones. You don’t have to rely on yourself; as a Christ-follower, you have a God who is willing and eager to give you wisdom and guide your steps.

I love these two passages:

Isaiah 30:21 – Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”

Jeremiah 6:16 –This is what the LORD says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, ‘We will not walk in it.’

So, let me ask you: Are you willing to walk in God’s way? That is truly the most important thing you need to decide in order to make those tough decisions and choose the right path. If you will seek God, ask for his way, and walk in it, you’ll find rest. Doesn’t it just make sense to do that?
