When was the last time you took time off from your busy life to just give God a chance to catch your attention and to listen to his voice? As a Christ-follower, if you don’t intentionally put time aside to devote to hearing from the Lord, your time will be full of less-important things, and you’ll miss the blessing which comes from giving God a chunk of your time.
That’s why I’ve hosted weekend getaways for thirty years—to encourage you to take one weekend out for fellowship, for recharging your spiritual and physical batteries, and for listening to God’s voice. Our 31st Getaway is not far off—March 29-31, here in the Chicago area. Women come from across the country for this special event, and I’m hoping you will join us this year. You will never regret giving God that time!
This was one woman’s testimony after last year’s getaway:
“When I arrived, I was numb. After listening to all the speakers, talking to the other ladies, and receiving warm hugs of love from them, I was able to feel again. My hope has been restored.”
You see, when you give God time to touch you with his love and truth, he restores you. At this year’s getaway we’re focusing on grace—God’s transforming grace. It restores you and transforms you! In fact, when you begin to look at all the Bible says about God’s grace, you recognize that everything in our lives as believers is dependent on the grace that comes to us through Jesus Christ. So, if you will devote an entire weekend to growing in your knowledge of grace, God will transform you in amazing ways—I promise!
