PROGRAM D-6852

Did you leave home without a grace dip today?  While we really don’t need to take a credit card with us when we leave home, there are other things that definitely should go with us each day. A grace dip is a daily reminder of God’s grace to you.

Here’s how a grace dip can affect your day.  Suppose you took time to dip yourself in grace this morning, so you were reminded of God’s unfathomable love for you, his unexplained goodness to you, his constant care and protection.  Picture yourself coated with grace, just like M&M’s candy.

Let’s say that early in your day someone takes a pot shot at you and says something unkind or criticizes you in some derogatory way.  It could be a mate or a boss or a co-worker, but when you hear those words, they hurt.  However, if you took your grace dip this morning, those words hit your grace coating and bounce right off.  They’re certainly not pleasant, but because you’re covered with grace, the Holy Spirit reminds you that you are loved with an everlasting love, you are accepted in Jesus just the way you are, and you are a child of the King.  Grace diffuses those stinging words and protects you from the harm they would inflict.

Then suppose that you fail somewhere along the way today.  Maybe you lose your temper or gossip or get mired down in negativity.  And you feel very guilty.  That grace covering will remind you that God’s forgiveness is free, and he never hangs things over our heads.  Because of his grace, you can get instant forgiveness, get rid of that guilt and have your joy restored, even though you blew it.  That’s what a grace dip will do for you.

You might find that no one gives you credit for what you do, and you never seem to receive the approval and recognition you so desire and deserve.  A grace dip will fill in those gaps for you, because you’ll remember that whatever you do for the Lord will be rewarded in heaven.  You will be free from that terrible need for the approval of others when you are covered with grace.  After all, if God accepts and loves you, everyone else’s approval is second class.  Nice but not necessary.

I challenge to start living in grace; take a grace dip each morning.
