PROGRAM D-7776

How can you find truly unshakable peace in your busy, hectic, pressurized everyday world? Everyday peace—peace when the workload is too much, when the deadlines are unrealistic, when the environment is hectic, when the people around you are losing it, when your stomach churns and your head aches—how is it possible to have unshakable peace in the midst of life’s chaos?

The truth is, life is full of pressures of all kinds, and those pressures can steal our peace very easily. But living without pressure is unrealistic—you can’t accomplish anything without dealing with some pressure. And I’ve found that pressure has its benefits: It forces us to look up more often. It keeps us aware of our need for God.

Jesus said: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27). His peace is different than what the world gives. The world’s peace is dependent on circumstances—when everything is going the way we want it to, then we can be peaceful. But, of course, that is a shaky foundation at best. We need the kind of peace that Jesus gives—peace that is with us through the troubled times and the fearful times. We need unshakable peace that is not dependent on our circumstances.

Our theme for our upcoming weekend getaway on April 21 – 23 is Unshakable Peace, and we will be addressing various areas in our lives where we need peace—peace that is not determined or controlled by our circumstances or our feelings. For example, we have a workshop that covers unshakable financial peace—how much of your peace is destroyed by money worries? My guess is that lots of us lose that peace that passes understanding because our finances are troublesome. This workshop will give you very practical, biblical take-aways that could truly transform your approach and attitude toward money! That’s just one of the workshops available.

If you’ve never attended one of our weekend getaways, I want to extend a very special invitation to you. The dates are April 21 – 23, and this weekend is filled with wonderful fellowship with lots of other women like you, inspiring speakers, music that will lift your heart in worship, and very practical workshops—all in a beautiful setting in a hotel here in the suburbs of Chicago. All the details are on line at christianworkingwoman.org or call us for brochures and information. Our number is 630-462-0552.

And don’t miss this—if you register before March 1, you’ll save $25 off our already very reasonable price. So, check it out today—I would love to meet you April 21 – 23 at our 29th Annual Weekend Getaway.
